My Widlife hike exploring the Fleet Lagoon by the Chesil Beach Centre and then taking a short trip up onto Portland in search for some short eared owls…??!!! Portland is a very special location and still to this day a wild and rugged landscape that makes it a unique habitat for our native wildlife species and many migrating birds. This area is definitely worth a visit anytime of year.

Alners Gorse Butterfly Reserve
This is my day trip to Alners Gorse Butterfly Reserve in North Dorset with an interview with Robin Procter. The reserve’s habitats are being restored after many years of neglect, through scrub control, removal of unwanted trees and grazing with Dartmoor ponies. It is an extremely rich site for all sorts of wildlife, especially butterflies and moths. The grassland is being restored to enable the Marsh Fritillary butterfly to re-colonise from nearby sites. A must visit for all butterfly and wildlife enthusiasts as I have never seen so many different species all in one place and day. What a real treat and amazing location here in North Dorset.

Higher Hyde Heath
Nestled within one of the best areas of the country to possibly see all six native British reptiles this is an internationally important heath land site, with wet, dry and humid heaths, a selection of peaty pools and ponds, mire and wet woodland. I really enjoyed visiting this amazing landscape and seeing some of the really special wildlife that lives in this area.
Music: The Lumineers – Ho Hey
Join me on a Wildlife Adventure where I go out and explore wilds of Dorset in search of our beautiful and elusive wildlife. I am truly blessed to live in such a habitat rich area where wildlife can not only survive but thrive.

Into The Wild
Hello and welcome to my first ever video! I am out in the wilds of West Dorset exploring my local Nature Reserve Powerstock Common. You can often find me here observing the natural world and enjoying the remote beauty that this place has to offer. Please respect the rules of the countryside and the wildlife.
